The Nursery is based alongside a large country garden set in the Yorkshire Wolds between the villages of Wetwang and Fridaythorpe. All the plants are home grown, with the majority being propagated from those in the garden. The soil is shallow chalk, and the plants grown, thrive in the conditions here. The wire sculptures are made to order by Susan Nichols, most of the sculptures can be viewed at the nursery or at some of the garden fairs & show which Holmfield Nurseries attend. One day wire sculpture workshops are held where small groups can make their own basic sculptures under experienced guidance. Please call or email for forthcoming dates and information. Numbers are limited to between 4 and 8 people The garden is open under the National Garden Scheme and is also open for pre-booked group visits. The nursery is generally open from Easter to July and most of September, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Please ring before travelling any distance to ensure someone is there to welcome you. |
